Gay guy goes straight
Rachel Paula Abrahamson is an entertainment journalist-turned-lifestyle reporter living in Boston. And yet, somehow, it does. He was your typical straight guy – had only dated women, just out of a five-year relationship with his girlfriend, casually dating again.
Greenstone hesitated. With one exception: his wife, Greenstone. Thankfully, this works both ways. What. Greenstone and Hoff both got their roles, and quickly became inseparable. Then one evening commute changed everything. Hoff says he understands why people are curious about his sexuality.
Two years later, Greenstone visited an energy healer, who asked if she was seeing anyone.
Housed with the rest of the cast at a resort, they would stay up until 4 a. While he was in the lobby waiting, he was startled — and amused — when a sudden cackle pierced the theater walls. Hoff was the special person in her life, but there was one big obstacle: his sexuality.
That deep emotional bond, built on mutual respect and admiration, shapes every aspect of their lives. They both had concerns. When the show wrapped, their friendship continued and grew deeper. She is straight, and he is gay.
A few years ago, a man shared this story on Reddit, capturing that rare, electric moment when attraction completely blindsides you and everything you thought you knew about yourself shifts in an instant. (Bombastic Side Eye) A Reddit user recently asked.

10 Reasons Gays Chase : Samantha Greenstone and Jacob Hoff, a straight woman and a gay man, are married, expecting a baby, and redefining love and family
As a gay man and a straight woman, they had no road map for what their relationship might become. Unbeknown to each other, both were starting to wrestle with a confusing pull. Their partnership, they say, is a testament to how love and commitment can flourish beyond traditional labels.
Samantha Greenstone and Jacob Hoff have what they describe as a mixed-orientation marriage. To broaden awareness of unconventional marriages, they chronicle their lives on social media, and have amassed 5 million followers in the process. Hoff enjoys recounting how he heard Greenstone before he ever saw her.
But they say intimacy is not the central focus of their relationship, which is monogamous. A minute later came another message, one that would change everything. Greenstone, 38, and Hoff, 31, will mark their first wedding anniversary in November.
As a queer man in a fraternity, my college career was straight men trying to explain away their queer tendencies as jokes and misunderstandings. Greenstone and Hoff insist their bond is both monogamous and meaningful — a reminder, they say, that love doesn't have to fit into neat categories. She remembers feeling a jolt of recognition. When Greenstone left the auditorium with the other hopefuls, Hoff instantly knew the petite blonde with the "big energy" was the person with the infectious laugh.
